Design - Homeshield
Step 1: Design and Consultation
Design is the key to your perfect conservatory or orangery, our team of designated designers, along with a computer aided design system will help you create your own individual dream conservatory or orangery. There is a huge range of conservatory designs available (Victorian, T-shape, P-shape, Edwardian, Lean-to, Bespoke and Lantern), you can be sure the our designers with provide you with plenty of options to suit your property.

Step 2: Technical Survey
Surveying - HomeshieldWe will then send round a Homeshield surveyor to gauge the specifications for manufacturing your new conservatory or orangery. A technical survey includes site measurements and photographs in order to issue you with a full written specification. This is provided with a 3D drawing to show you precisely how your conservatory will look.

All of our surveyors are fully trained and highly experienced. They will discuss with you in detail every aspect of the design and style of your chosen Homeshield product. They will take exact measurements on-site and ensure that everything is made to the correct dimensions.

Homeshield surveyors are fully trained and will be very happy to answer any questions you may have on any aspect of the job. We do advise that all dates our surveyors provide, from installation date to completion date are provisional and for guidance purposes only.

Homeshield Conservatory Surveyors will provide you with a full specification together with a visual computer drawing which will require your authorisation prior to manufacturing. So don’t delay, sign and return them in our pre-paid envelope.

Once we have received confirmation of your survey and specifications, they will be audited and entered into our computer in order to provide us with accurate sizes and styles, together with all ancillary items. Once this process is complete, we will begin manufacture of your chosen Homeshield product.

Step 3: Planning Permission
Here at Homeshield we deal directly with the local authorities on your behalf regarding planning permission. Generally speaking, you won’t need to get planning permission unless your house has already been extended, the construction takes up more than 30sq meters, or you intend to add sanitary or draining facilities within the conservatory.

Once the design and permissions are confirmed, We will manufacture your new conservatory or Orangery. We will build the entire structure in a factory before delivering it to your house. All our products are made to the highest possible standards, in a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility using the most up-to-date computerised machines. So from initial order right through to installation, you can b sure of unbeatable product quality and service. Extrusion is processed by Duraflex, one of the largest extruders of PVCu profile in the UK. They hold the highest standard for quality, the British Standard Kitemark, so you can sure of the best possible standards of production. Engineered to a superb finish, compatibility and versatility are integral to their range making it perfect for any style of architecture.

Attention to detail is a vital part of the manufacturing process, and one of those details is the team of skilled, professional personnel responsible for the production of your windows, doors or conservatory. Everyone who works for Homeshield has the same high level of dedication, ability & enthusiasm for producing the perfect solution for your particular needs.

Stage 5 – Good foundations
Now it’s time for the real work to be done! A foundation will need to be prepared before any work is done on the site, which will normally be done at a depth of 650mm. The base of the conservatory or orangery will then be built up, as well as the base wall (if chosen), which will involve brickwork and installing cavity insulation.

Stage 6 – Installation
All Homeshield conservatory and orangery installers are highly skilled and will ensure a smooth and effective installation. A Homeshield specialist team will install your new custom built conservatory or orangery, ensuring all weatherproofing and glasswork is fitted correctly. All Homeshield products are fitted by fully trained professional installers in accordance with the rules and regulations set out by FENSA, to be compliant with sections 4 & 7 of the building regulations 2000.

Once our installation teams’ vans are loaded they will leave our factory the morning of your installation and will endeavour to arrive as early as traffic conditions will permit. Homeshield Conservatory Surveyors will provide you with a full specification together with a visual computer drawing which will require your authorisation prior to manufacturing. So don’t delay, sign and return them in our pre-paid envelope.

Every installation project will mean a certain amount of disruption, your fitting team understand that they are guests for the time of your installation, making sure your home is kept clean and tidy, and taking all th mess with them when they leave.

Plastering - HomeshieldStep 7: Internal Ancillaries
All electrical, plumbing, plastering and tiling are undertaken by Homeshield skilled and dedicated engineers.

Step 8: Final Inspection
At Homeshield we ensure that all aspects of the installation and products are inspected. Your thoughts and comments at this stage will be greatly appreciated and we trust that every step of the installation has been a good experience. You can depend on our after-sales service teams to ensure that everything remains in working order in accordance with our 10 year guarantee.

Step 9: Enjoy your new Conservatory or Orangery.
The conservatory or orangery is now yours to furnish and decorate as you like. Enjoy!
